EA Sports recently revealed the new Ones To Watch players who will feature in FIFA 23. At the same time, it revealed the Official Details and FAQ’s about the event which should start on September 30th with the Global launch of FIFA 23.
The summer transfer market was really busy this year which saw some great players making their move to different clubs across Europe. Ones To Watch celebrates the biggest signings of the transfer window with dynamic FIFA 23 Ultimate Team™ items that have the potential to upgrade all season long based on how players perform for their new clubs.

This year because of FIFA World Cup, the criteria of upgrade for OTW cards have changed.
- For every TOTW/POTM card player receive, they get +1 OTW card upgrade.
- Their club wins 3 out of next 8 league games (starting September 30th), they get +1 OTW card upgrade.
- Their nation wins one game at the FIFA WORLD CUP 2022, they get +1 OTW card upgrade.

As they leave their mark on the pitch for their new clubs, players’ Ones To Watch items will upgrade when they receive a performance-based special item such as Team of the Week or Man of the Match.
Ones To Watch players are also eligible for a “Wins to Watch” upgrade, a one-time upgrade to their stats if their team wins three matches out of their next eight domestic league games starting from Friday 30th September.
The FIFA World Cup 2022 will have a big impact on how the season shapes up. During the tournament, as Team of the Week is paused, EA Sports will be adding a brand new upgrade opportunity for Ones to Watch Items called “Nations to Watch”. Nations to Watch will see Ones to Watch Items become eligible for a one-off In-Form upgrade if their national team wins a game at the FIFA World Cup 2022, regardless of whether the player is on the pitch, on the bench or watching from home.

How do Ones To Watch players upgrade?
Ones To Watch player items will upgrade when a player receives a qualifying performance-based item (Team of the Week, Man of the Match) in FIFA 23 Ultimate Team.
Ones To Watch players can also upgrade via the ‘Wins to Watch’ mechanic – based on their team’s performances. They are eligible for a one-time upgrade if their team wins three out of their next eight domestic league games starting from 30th September. The OTW players do not have to feature in the games for them to count towards the upgrade.
In addition, FUT 23 includes an additional upgrade opportunity for OTW players tied to the FIFA World Cup 2022: ‘Nations to Watch’. With Nations to Watch, Ones To Watch players will be eligible for a one-time upgrade if their national team wins any game at the FIFA World Cup 2022. The OTW players do not have to feature in the game, or be part of their nation’s squad to be eligible for the upgrade.

More Ones To Watch players will be announced in the run-up to the launch of FIFA 23 on September 30.
How does the Ones To Watch pre-order offer work?
For a limited time, if you pre-order FIFA 23 Ultimate Edition before September 30, you will receive an untradeable Ones To Watch player item in FIFA 23 Ultimate Team.
What happens if a Ones To Watch Player’s in-form is in a different position to their Ones To Watch item?
The player’s position on their Ones To Watch item will not change. They will however continue to receive upgrades from that and future applicable in-forms.
How long will Ones To Watch Players continue to receive upgrades?
OTW items will only upgrade based on performances in the 2022/23 domestic season.
What happens if a Ones To Watch Player is transferred/loaned to a different club?
If a OTW player transfers/goes on loan during the season, the OTW item keeps the player’s latest upgrade until the player receives an upgrade at their new club, or receives the Nations to Watch upgrade. At that point the OTW item will be updated with the player’s new club and latest boosted item. If a player transfers to another club before they receive their ‘Wins to Watch’ upgrade, they will no longer be eligible for the bonus upgrade.
What happens if a Ones To Watch Player is released by their club and no longer in their team’s squad?
If a player is no longer in the squad of the club their item is released for and does not join a new club, they will no longer be eligible to receive any future additional upgrades. This includes the ‘Wins to Watch’ and ‘Nations to Watch’ upgrades.
