EA Sports, through their official Website, has revealed changes to Team of the Week (TOTW) and Featured TOTW in EA Sports FC 24 Ultimate Team (previously FIFA Ultimate Team – FUT) mode.
EA SPORTS FC 24 is a new era for The World’s Game: 19,000+ fully licensed players, 700+ teams, and 30+ leagues playing together in the most authentic football experience ever.
The Team of the Week (TOTW) is a recurring feature in the Ultimate Team (UT) mode of the FIFA video game series. TOTW consists of a selection of player cards, each with upgraded ratings, that highlight footballers who have performed exceptionally well in real-world matches during a specific week.

EA Sports are focused on enhancing the authenticity of football content in Ultimate Team (UT) as part of their transition into the EA SPORTS FC era. This effort to capture the real world of football more accurately involves several key areas of improvement and new features including Evolutions, PlayStyles & the addition of the top 5 women’s leagues.
Team of the Week
EA Sports is making significant updates to the Team of the Week (TOTW) feature in Ultimate Team for the upcoming installment, known as EA FC 24 Ultimate Team. These changes are designed to enhance the appeal and in-game usage of TOTW throughout the football season. Here are the key updates and improvements that have been announced:
1. Lower Rated Players with Larger Upgrades: In an effort to ensure that TOTW remains exciting and relevant from the game’s launch, lower-rated Overall (OVR) players will receive larger upgrades. This means that all TOTW Players will have a minimum rating of 80 OVR right from the start. This approach builds on the strategy implemented in the previous year, providing more balanced and competitive options for players.
2. Balanced Stat Upgrades: TOTW Players across all OVR ranges will receive relatively larger upgrades in key stats, such as Pace or Dribbling. This adjustment aims to make TOTW players feel more balanced compared to other content released during similar timeframes. It enhances the uniqueness and appeal of TOTW cards, making them competitive choices for squads.
3. Featured TOTW Upgrades: Similar to the previous year, Featured TOTW items will be eligible for relatively larger upgrades. Additionally, Weak Foot and Skill Moves upgrades will be introduced. A new feature for this year is that these Weak Foot and Skill Moves upgrades will carry over to the player’s next TOTW version. This introduces a sense of progression and development for Featured TOTW players. Future announcements are expected to provide more details about Featured TOTW, including the use of PlayStyles to infuse player personalities into these special items.
These updates reflect EA Sports’ commitment to keeping the TOTW feature fresh and engaging for Ultimate Team players throughout the season. By providing more balanced upgrades, improving the appeal of lower-rated players, and adding unique features like Weak Foot and Skill Moves upgrades, EA Sports aims to make TOTW a dynamic and integral part of the Ultimate Team experience. These changes should enhance the excitement of building squads and competing in the game.
